Giant Hyssop. I took this photo because I’d never seen this flower before and I had just seen its picture that morning in a hiking book.
On East Lake Creek trail, August 5, Wednesday. Because I never saw the flower that produced this remarkable seed ball, I cannot figure out how to look up its name. The stem that supports the ball is about 2 feet tall.
